Pre-Adoption Class 4

We were mourning the loss of our Hobbes, so we didn't attend the class.

The class was given by a CLSC nurse who talked about the services offered to adoptive families. We were told that the information that was shared could be obtained by contacting my local CLSC when we receive our proposal.

We're looking forward to the 5th class...it's all day Saturday and we'll be discussing attachment.

Attachment is something that everyone adopting could learn a little more about. I've bought several books on that topic but I haven't read them yet. I'm waiting until we are matched. If you learn any useful information, please pass it along. I know that it's still early but do you think that you guys will get another dog someday down the road?

Renee,
I'll be writing up a blog entry soon (i hope!) to summarize some of the highlights from our classes.

We are planning on getting another dog, it is soon, but since my mom moved into the basement suite, she has wanted to get a puppy and she'll be getting her puppy on July 2nd (he's a cocker spaniel mix). We're thinking that since she's getting a puppy, and we'll be in puppy training mode, we might as well be in full puppy mode! 2 puppies who can play and learn and grow together. Nothing is sure on our part yet, but we are thinking about it.

The house is pretty quiet without Hobbes. It is hard to get used to.
