We got word today from our agency that ICAB has officially extended our waiting time (at least for families in Quebec) to between 24 and 36 months.
We are so incredibly saddened by this news, we thought that 2010 would be the year we became a family and now it looks like it may be 2012.
We know we'll get through this...but right now we feel...well, we think we might know how Margarito felt...

oh Tam and Eric I can feel your pain. When our file went over to Thailand the wait time was 12 months, then it extended to 18 months, then it was 24 months, then it was 36 months and now we have been waiting over 44 months (yep thats 3 years and 7 months) and still no news. Everytime we get close the goalposts keep moving. Its tough, tougher than anything we've ever done before.
:(
Oh Tammy, that's awful!!!! I'm really hoping though that you're wait won't exceed the 30 months mark. I'm thinking about you guys and I'm praying that you are matched with your little one very, very soon. You guys definitely deserve it!!!!
oufff!ouf!!!ouf!!!!xxx
on te comprends, c'est vraiment poche.. faut se dire que ça va finir par arriver..

Uh, oh. At 20.5 months, I REALLY feel your pain. There's this little voice inside my head that's saying "Hey, maybe ICAB is just erring on the side of caution by going up to 36 months." Just when you think you've waited long enough, you get to wait some more. :( Feeling your pain, and praying for patience for both of us!
Oh Tammy, *virtual hug*. I'm so sorry that you got sucker-punched with this news. This must be so difficult to process knowing that there are 1.6 million orphaned children in the Philippines needing families and homes. I can't fathom why, it has to be this way. You are in my prayers...
Blessings to you and Eric!!!
Keep faith. I know its not easy but He's in control and know who's going to be our kids. I had that thought that I'm going to wait the time it take even if it's difficult... I'm there waiting and praying with you :) Thank god we're not down at the same time so we can encourage each other ;)

Tammy,
There's nothing I can say to make this any easier. It just sucks. Just know that we're all thinking about you and hoping and praying that ICAB is just being cautious in its estimates on timeframes.
Take care
Oh Tammy, it sucks royally, doesn't it?! Arghhhhhhh!!! We got the same letter from ICAB on Friday. I feel your pain, and I'm feeling really discouraged these days...but there's nothing that we can do. We don't have control over this situation, and so it is futile to worry or stress over it. I would like to share with you the serinity prayer: God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Thanks so much everyone for your encouragement! We had a difficult day yesterday as we absorbed the news, but today was a better day. We know that everything is beyond our control anyways. I'm so glad that I "know" each and everyone of you...what would I do without you friends? Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I, too, am sorry that the wait time has be upped. Waiting is the hardest part. I will keep you in my prayers! Of course, you know the wait is worth it, but it doesn't make the waiting any easier. Hang in there!!!
